Was hired in 1980 by Larry Hilbloom the "H" in DHL to become part of the inner circle of DHL Airways.We grew the company from nothing in 1980 to $1 billion by 1991 and we became the largest international courier company in the world. DHL's dramatic growth from obscurity to global prominence was one of the greatest growth stories in the transportation industry especially when you consider it started as a hole in the wall company and grew so big in only 11 years.
Went on to build 3 other major transportation companies both globally and domestically and currently I am a transportation consultant for various companies. I believe that my success in business is a direct result of being aggressive and competitive which was a direct result of growing up in a highly competitive neighborhood. Spending countless days and nights playing all types of sports in all types of weather fueled this inner engine of wanting to win. which surfaced in the ruthless transportation business world.

I have very good memories of my Wingate, Winthrop and PS 268 school days. I was part of a group of over 150 kids that all grew up together from Kindergarten through high school. This does not happen these days anymore.
I have been back to my old neighborhood many many times since I moved away in 1973. I cannot explain the magnetic pull the neighborhood has on me but I have walked those streets reliving many many different historical experiences form my childhood.
Unlike many Brooklyn neighborhoods where the landscape has changed our old area remains almost intact with all original houses and apartment buildings still there. It is a surreal experience to stand in the back of PS 268 and relive untold punchball, handball, stickball, basketball and football games played. Not to mention chinese handball!
Although I was short until my 17th birthday I grew to 6' 200 lbs into my early anti-establishment early adulthood.
